Installing Wget In Windows

Wget is a free and excellent tool for testing download speeds, wget is available in Windows and Linux.

In order to install wget in Windows, download this file from Sourceforge.

Extract the file, run the EXE, click Next and accept the EULA.

Now you need to open command prompt and navigate to the folder where the wget file is located.

On my Windows PC its located at C:\Program Files (x86)\GnuWin32\bin

In command prompt type,

cd C:\Program Files (x86)\GnuWin32\bin

Now you have navigated to the folder containing the wget file you can now run wget in the command prompt.

So to test your speeds from our network you would type,

wget http://mirror.nforce.com/pub/speedtests/1000mb.bin -O NUL
